Turkey’s tourism revenues last year exceeded 26 billion dollars

According to a statement issued by the Turkish Statistics Agency, revenues of the tourism sector last year amounted to 26 billion, 283 million and 655 thousand dollars. Compared to 2016, the rate of increase in revenues to 18.9 percent.

In the last quarter of 2017 the value of tourism revenues was 6 billion and 109 million dollars, up 27.7 percent from the same period last year.

According to the statement, 77.4 percent of tourism revenues came from foreign visitors and 22.6 percent from Turkish expatriates.

According to the data, the volume of spending on the tourism sector in Turkey during the last year to 5 billion and 137 million and 244 thousand dollars, an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the volume of expenditure in 2016.
